What is Jan Solar Kendra?
Jansolarkendra is a pioneering initiative by Urja Cart in collaboration with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation aimed at democratizing access to solar energy solutions across the city. Modelled after successful government ventures like Jan Seva Kendra, Jansolarkendra aims to establish 100 strategically located solar service centres throughout Lucknow. These centres serve as single-point hubs for information, sales & solar installation support making solar energy accessible to all socio-economic classes.
Saur Sakhi
The SAUR SAKHI initiative trains women as solar entrepreneurs to manage Jan Solar Kendra, promoting employment and clean energy solutions in semi-urban and urban areas. it draws inspiration from schemes like “Lakhpati Didi” and KUSUM, empowering women entrepreneurs in SHGs to manage solar solutions, driving renewable energy adoption and economic empowerment.
Saur Sakhis are SHG Members who employed and trained by Urja Cart to manage Jan Solar Kendra centres. They serve as the initiative's face, engaging directly with the community to promote solar adoption often from rural and semi-urban areas though SHGs.
